Honoring the year’s best in streaming television — across every platform that lit up the year.
A new award. A 21st-century-only show. The Marquees recognize the work that defined the streaming year on Netflix, Apple TV+, HBO/Max, Disney+, Prime Video, FX, Hulu, Paramount+, and Peacock — with categories shaped for the way television actually works in 2026.
No one network owns the streaming era. The Marquees are deliberately platform-agnostic — we evaluate the work, then note where it ran. The 2026 inaugural cycle considers all original series, limited series, comedies, documentaries, and animated work that premiered or had a new season on these services.
Twenty-five categories — modeled after what the Emmys and Critics’ Choice get right, but reorganized for the platform-agnostic, anthology-rich, season-condensed reality of streaming in 2026. A sample below; the full list is on the categories page.
No platform owns a category. A streamer’s slate doesn’t earn it nominations — the work earns them. Anything original that aired in the eligibility window competes on equal footing.
Comedy, drama, limited, anthology, international, animation, documentary, reality — each judged in its own form. We don’t pit a four-episode limited series against a 22-episode network drama.
The voting body is an editorial jury — critics, scholars, and industry observers, not the people whose careers depend on the people they’d be voting on. Selection criteria published in advance.
The inaugural Marquee Awards ceremony will take place in December 2026, recognizing work from the September 2025 – August 2026 eligibility window. Format and broadcast partner to be announced summer 2026.
A streaming-native ceremony designed for the platforms it covers. Hour-long, no filler, every category presented — with citations from the editorial jury for each winner. No envelope theatrics; just the work.
Eligibility window opens for review June 2026. Submissions accepted through October 2026. Nominees announced November 2026. Ceremony streams December 2026.
Categories are live. Nominations open this fall. Bookmark the page or follow the announcements coming through the WholeTech Awards Almanac.
